I decided to depict a Scarlet Tanager. I first noticed the bird a couple of Summers ago in Boone. The males have a beautiful vibrant red coloration to their chest and body with black wings. I started off with detailed drawings of the birds and scanned them in to create a digital form. The poster features a dynamic array of the Tanager. Altogether the technical drawings coupled with the monotone color show the beauty of the animal.
